This wedge is grounded by a heavy, wood-grain platform and a scalloped leather vamp anchored by brushed gold studs. The cross-over ankle strap and sharp square toe ground the exaggerated height, nodding to the high-glamour, architectural sensibility of 1970s resort wear. It functions less as a shoe and more as a piece of solid, sun-warmed sculpture for the foot.
